Gleichmann Electronics presents TFT displays with extra long-life LED backlight, 88° viewing angle and up to 1550:1 contrast ratio

Filed under: Releases — jwoodstock @ 4:18 pm

Stutensee (Germany, November 27, 2009 – The 10.4-inch TFT displays G104V1-T03 (VGA)/G104X1-L03(XGA) and the 12.1‑inch panel G121S1-L02 (SVGA) from CMO (Chi Mei Optoelectronics) feature a viewing angle of 88° from all sides, an excellent contrast ratio of up to 1500:1 and a brightness of up to 450 cd/m². The displays are manufactured with the help of MVA (Multi-domain Vertically Aligned) technology.

The new models are equipped with an especially long-life LED backlight with an operating life of 50000 hours typical at 25°C and a 12 V LED driver circuit is already integrated in the electronics. If needed, the displays can, however, also be driven with the customer’s own driver circuit.

The G104X1-L03 is designed for an operating temperature range of -20°C to +70°C. The G104V1-T03 and G121S1-L02 models are specified for an extended temperature range of -30°C to +80°C. All panels are mechanically compatible to the respective CCFL versions, whereby the “side mounting” mechanical system used with the CMO displays enables an especially small outline dimension.

Thanks to their excellent readability, the G series displays are ideally suited for demanding indoor and outdoor industrial applications. If needed, the displays are available with a complete SKD kit.

CMO guarantees a minimum of 3 years long-term availability for all models. Datasheets and samples of the TFT displays described above are available now from Gleichmann Electronics.

Gleichmann & Co. Electronics GmbH

Founded in 1979, Gleichmann & Co. Electronics GmbH, in the same company group with MSC Vertriebs GmbH, has established itself as one of the leading pan-European distributors of electronic assemblies and components. One of the reasons for the high acceptance by customers and suppliers is the company’s early focus on comparatively few, highly sophisticated products such as microcontrollers, programmable logic devices, displays and customer specific power supplies. From this, the resulting in-depth technical know-how of our sales engineers and field application engineers today enables us, if required by the customer, even implementation of complete new designs right up to the finished product. With two of its own ASIC design centers, the Gleichmann Electronics Research laboratory and one of the largest and most modern programming centers in Europe, Gleichmann & Co Electronics takes a leading role in terms of service and customer support.
